Why we feel pleasure or pain ?



Meditation Points :
1. Causes of pain and pleasure are transient .
2. In winter we love sun rays whereas in summer it is undesirable .
3. When you are in pain , try to think cause of pain is temporary it will go off .
4. Similarly when in pleasure think that cause of pleasure is also not permanent  .
5. Bear both pain and pleasure without getting carried away with it .
6. Do not desire any pleasure or get grieved by pain .
7. Pleasure and pain both come and go .
8. Pleasure and pain both creates impression in mind ( samskaras) .
9. Pleasure creates a longing or desire for pleasure and converts into grief if it is not attained in future .
10. Pain creates a sorrow when ever remembered .
11. Finally both creates sorrow .
12 . Human life is circle more we want to run away from a point more closer we get to it .
13. So just experience both without altering state of mind much .

Effects :
Helps you to live life as it comes .

A great analogy for temporary body .

Shloka 13
Meditation Points :
1.Remember the photos of you when you were child .
2. You had a small body , innocent mind , less intellect .
3. Think 10 points what distinguish your self from child you .
4. So all the time we live in different bodies .
5.Hence after death also we get a new body .
6. That new body is not visible by naked eyes like we can not see bacteria etc.
7. Seeing the limited capacity of our eyes which can see only up to certain extent .

End of meditation .

Estimated time : 5 to 10 minutes .
Repetition : At least 1 days .
Posture : sitting .
Environment : Calm place , Solitude  .


Effect :  This meditation introduces you concept self which is different from body . 

Meditation on continuity of life .

Mediation Points :

1. What you are the body or consciousness ?
2. If you are body from where it originated ?
3. Where it goes after death ?
4. As all matter in this world is constant , some time your body will be part of plant or other human bodies .
5. Now also matter from some one else body is part of you .
6. After death either body is decomposed to soil or fire , it goes into soil which plants take as nutrient which is taken by animal as food .
7. If you are body what if you loose your hand or foot will you be some one else ?
8  Body grows old , its shape size color all changes , but you remain same .
9 . So you are perhaps not the body .
10. Are you mind which is more subtler then body ?
11. Mind state also changes .
12. Some time it is awake , some time sleeping , dreaming , deep sleep , hallucinated ?
13. You feel as king some time in dream , other time some thing else .
14 . Think what you are ?
15 . Does you existence ends with body ?

End of meditation .

Repetition : At least 4 days (Do it as much as you can ) .
Posture : sitting .
Environment : Calm place , Solitude , Try to avoid any company of people 1 hour before this .


Effect :  It is major step to know yourself . It is called self inquiry and highest meditation .As your practice will mature you will be more aware about yourself .

Meditation on why we should grieve ?

Shloka 11

Meditation points :
1. Have you ever grieved for a person who is not suitable for it ?
2. Wise do not grieve for people who are dead .
3. Wise do not grieve for people who are not dead .
4. Our memories are all made of two things , the current world in which we live and the stories we hear from past .
5. Remember 5 most important person .
6. Try to understand why you remember them .
7. Do you feel pity on them because they are alive or because they are dead .
8. If you feel pity can you brood over the points what makes you feel like that .
9. Can you judge your thoughts the way you think is right or justified .
10. how many times in day you feel bad for such people ?
11. Have you met people who think on the same line as you think .

End of meditation .

Repetition : At least two days.
Posture : sitting/laying
Environment : Calm place 
Effect : See the way your thought process change after each cycle .
